With Moneo, you can forget the hassle of loose change: this electronic wallet lets you use your card to buy day-to-day odds and ends like a loaf of bread or a newspaper, in shops displaying the Moneo logo(1).
You can select the electronic wallet that suits you best:
• An add-on to your bank card:
use the same card for all your purchases.
• A separate card:
keep your bank card and electronic wallet facilities separate.
All you need to do to activate Moneo is top up your card at a Moneo terminal in a HSBC branch by entering your PIN number. These terminals allow you to check your electronic cash balance or your last Moneo transaction.
You can then pay for small purchases in shops, at parking meters and at ATMs that accept Moneo. Payment is quick and easy; you don't even need to enter your PIN number.
When you run out of money in your Moneo wallet, you can top it up by:
• Up to €100 at Moneo terminals available in HSBC branches.
• A fixed sum of €30 via express top-up, when you make a purchase in a shop if your balance is under €5.
The top up amount is debited from your bank account securely when you enter your PIN.
Nearly 15,000 parking meters in France, regional SNCF train ticket distributors and drink and snack machines already accept Moneo.
