HSBC Private Bank(Suisse) SA confirme qu'un de ses anciens employés qui travaillait auparavant au sein du département du développement informatique, a volé des données informatiques entre fin 2006 et début 2007. Dans le cadre d'une enquête menée par la police fédérale suisse en 2008, il a été entendu par un procureur et la banque a été informée de ce vol. La banque a alors porté plainte auprès des autorités suisses, conformément à la loi suisse. A la connaissance de la banque, le nombre de noms susceptibles d'être concernés s'élève à moins de 10. HSBC continue à coopérer avec les autorités suisses dans l'enquête diligentée à cet effet.
