What do I need to access HSBC's Personal Internet Banking in France?


Opening an HSBC account gives you free(1) access to your Personal Internet Banking on www.hsbc.fr (which allows you to manage your accounts and transactions online).

You will be sent your access codes (Internet Banking User ID and Secret Code) by post a few days after you have opened your account.

These codes are strictly personal and you will need them to access all of the HSBC Internet Banking services in France (Internet, mobile phone Internet services, telephone, French Minitel, HSBC Invest).

What does Global View include?


This offer is exclusively reserved for HSBC Premier customers. It is completely free of charge.

Thanks to Global View, you can view and manage the HSBC accounts you hold in France and any of the other countries included in the offer from one single internet login.
To benefit from the offer, you will need to register by clicking on the “Discover Global View” button on your Personal Internet Banking on www.hsbc.fr.

This service is soon to be enhanced by a number of new functionalities such as the possibility of making free transfers between those HSBC accounts registered with the Global View.

Extra security in accessing my Personal Internet Banking


Global View gives you free access to new functionalities that require an extra level of security.

When you register with the service, you will need to choose new Internet access codes such an Internet User ID, a memorable question and answer and a password, all in alphanumerical format.
These new codes will replace those you received when you opened your HSBC account and you will need them for all subsequent connections to your Personal Internet Banking on www.hsbc.fr.

Do not discard your old codes, you will need them to access the other HSBC Internet Banking services in France (mobile phone Internet services, telephone, French Minitel service, HSBC Invest).

How do I create new Internet Banking access codes?


To subscribe free of charge to the Global View, you will need to provide your Internet Banking access codes and date of birth.

Each subscription is strictly personal. Joint account holders will need to create their own separate Internet access codes.

Once you have clicked on the “Discover Global View”, there are 4 steps to creating your new Internet access codes:

• from the HSBC Premier page on www.hsbc.fr,
• from your Personal Internet Banking on www.hsbc.fr.

Step 1/ Enter your current Internet Banking User ID and confirm.
Step 2/Enter your current Internet Banking Secret Code and your date of birth using the virtual keyboard and confirm.
Step 3/ Create your new Internet access codes: choose a User ID, memorable question and answer and a password, all in alphanumerical format. You will also be asked two reset questions to facilitate the management of your new Internet access codes.
Warning! This new ID is unique and can no longer be modified.
Step 4/ Confirm and accept the general terms and conditions in order to access Global View.

Warning! For reasons of confidentiality and security, you will not be able to print or display your new Internet access codes so make sure you memorise them.

How do I access my Personal Internet Banking once I have created my new Internet Banking access codes?


Once they have been created, your new Internet access codes are all you need to access your Personal Internet Banking on www.hsbc.fr.

Accessing your page is done in two stages after you have clicked on the “Ma banque en ligne” link on www.hsbc.fr.
The page on which you enter your User ID remains the same.

Step 1/ Enter your new User ID and confirm.
Step 2/ Enter your memorable answer and your new password by filling in the empty spaces only and confirm.

To access Global View, simply click on the ‘Go to Global View’ button which appears on the pages of your Personal Internet Banking. You can switch back and forth between the Personal Internet Banking and Global View pages without having to log on again.

How do I modify my new Internet access codes?


You can modify your Internet access codes at any time from your Personal Internet Banking on www.hsbc.fr:

• Select the “My HSBC” tab.
• Select “My access codes” from the scroll-down menu.

You can then enter your new question/memorable answer as well as your password or reset questions and answers.

Warning! Your User ID is unique and cannot be modified.

To modify your memorable question/answer or your password, you will be asked to enter your existing memorable question/answer or password.

As a safety measure, we recommend that you change your Internet access codes on a regular basis.

What should I do if I forget my new Internet access codes?


If you forget your new User ID:
Contact the HSBC Relations Clients au 0 810 2 4 6 8 10(2). Lines are open from 8am to 10pm Monday to Friday, and from 9am to 5.30pm on Saturday.

Once they have confirmed your identity, your telephone advisor will give you your User ID. Confirmation of your identity is done by dialling your Internet Banking access codes on your telephone or by answering a few questions.

If you forget your Internet access codes (memorable question/answer or password):
You can reset the access code you have misplaced online. Simply click on the “Forgotten memorable answer?” or “Forgotten password?” links and follow the instructions given:

• Enter the answers to the reset questions you chose when registering.
• Enter the access code that you remember.
• Enter and memorise your new access code.

If your encounter problems in creating your new Internet access codes, contact the HSBC Relations Clients au 0 810 2 4 6 8 10(2). Lines are open from 8am to 10pm Monday to Friday, and from 9am to 5.30pm on Saturday).

If you forget both of your Internet access codes or your reset questions:
You can enter new access codes online which will generate a reference number.

You will then need to contact HSBC Relations Clients au 0 810 2 4 6 8 10(2). Lines are open from 8am to 10pm Monday to Friday, and from 9am to 5.30pm on Saturday.
Once they have confirmed your identity, your telephone advisor will validate your reference number and you will once again be able to access your Personal Internet Banking space on  www.hsbc.fr by entering the access codes that you have just created.

What should I do if my access is blocked?


For security reasons, your access will be blocked if you enter the wrong answers to the memorable questions or the wrong password several times.

Access blocked after 5 incorrect memorable answers
If you enter 5 incorrect memorable answers, access to your Personal Internet Banking on www.hsbc.fr will be automatically and temporarily blocked. You can however access to Internet Banking without having to wait until it is unblocked by resetting your memorable answers online.

Access blocked after 3 incorrect passwords
If you enter 3 incorrect passwords, access to your Internet Banking on www.hsbc.fr will be automatically and permanently temporarily blocked. To unblock your access, you will need to reset all of your Internet access codes.
