Secure Key, high level protection

Secure Key is the HSBC security system that generates single-use codes to:

  • Log into your account
  • Validate your sensitive transactions from the HSBC France mobile application and hsbc.fr

Equipped with the most advanced technology in terms of security, it provides you with a high level of protection against fraud.

To activate your Secure Key, you must register as a remote client

On the Mobile App

Note: To easily and quickly activate your Secure Key, make sure with our customer service that your e-mail and your mobile number are up to date.

Download the HSBC France mobile app from the App Store or Google Play

  1. Launch the application
  2. Enter your user ID and your secret code received by mail
  3. Click on "Install"
  4. Customize your password
  5. Customize your memorable answer
  6. Validate the terms and conditions of Remote Banking
  7. Select how to receive the activation code 1
  8. Enter and confirm the activation code 1
  9. Select how to receive activation code 2
  10. Enter and confirm the activation code 2
  11. Set your secret code and confirm it
  12. Click "OK" and reconnect to access your accounts

On the hsbc.fr website

  1. Click on the red button,’’sign in’’, at the top right of the screen
  2. Enter your user ID and your secret code received by mail
  3. Select your Secure Key
  4. Customize your password
  5. Customize your memorable answer
  6. Validate the terms and conditions of Remote Banking

If you chose Secure Key Mobile

Note the activation code 1 displayed onthe hsbc.fr website.

  1. Launch the mobile application
  2. Enter the activation code 1
  3. Select how to receive activation code 2
  4. Enter and confirm the activation code 2
  5. Set your PIN secret code and confirm it
  6. Click on "OK" and log in to access your accounts

If you chose the Secure Key Box

  1. Login again to the hsbc.en website upon delivery of the box
  2. Go to the "Sign In" page
  3. Enter your user ID, your answer to your security question and the 3 characters of your password requested on the screen
  4. Confirm receipt of your box
  5. Enter your box’s serial number, set your PIN, and generate a single-use code
  6. Enter this single-use code on the screen
  7. Access the summary of your accounts

If you have Secure Key Mobile: Activate Secure Key in a few minutes

You must activate your Secure Key on your new smartphone. On your old smartphone, Secure Key will be disabled and the generated single-use codes will no longer be recognized by HSBC.

  1.  Launch the mobile application
  2.  Enter your username then
     - your answer to the security question and the singe-use code (if you can generate a single-use code from the mobile application on your old smartphone)
     - or your answer to the security question and your password
  3.  Let us guide you

 We recommend that you remove the HSBC mobile app from your old smartphone

You can directly log in on the new application with your box
