Debit cards

A choice of cards, tailored to meet your needs

Your HSBC card operating terms and conditions are changing from 19 April 2021.

If you use your card in another country of the EEA(1), we’ll send you a free notification(2showing the foreign exchange rate applied. This is to comply with new European rules for currency conversion charges (known as CBPR2(3)).

This applies to:

  • payments in person or online in any EEA(1) currency except the Euro, from a merchant in the EEA(1)
  • cash withdrawals in any EEA(1) currency except the Euro, from an ATM in the EEA(1)

These notifications will show your estimated currency conversion fees as a percentage of your transaction(2). They’ll be sent by SMS(1) if we have your mobile number, or by email. If we don’t have your details, you won’t get them. You can update your details by logging on to online banking www.hsbc.fr or speaking to your usual adviser.

Only Visa Business and Visa Gold Business cardholders will get these notifications.

You can stop them at any time from 12 April by calling the phone number on the back of your card.
